I'll dominate 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest financial successes, regularly earning huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
